He was preceded in death by his brother, John Kirkland IV. Barry met the love of his life, his wife, Stacie, on a blind date at Southwest Texas State University. The other love of Barry's life was his daughter, Lyndsay. Barry entered the world of computers upon graduation. He was a loyal employee, and he loved his last job in the Global War Room at Hewlett Packard. Barry's long and successful career lead to many adventures, giving him the opportunity to visit countries such as Austria, Australia, England, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Scotland and Switzerland among others. Barry was blessed with many dear friends, and he deeply valued these relationships. If you were a friend of Barry, you were a friend for life. He and Stacie shared a love of travel, enjoying many road trips and time on their boat at the lake. They especially enjoyed their trips to Italy. Proud Texans, Barry and Stacie moved to Placitas in 2003, finally realizing their dream to live in a place they have such a love and passion for. He was an incredibly humble man; he was just as comfortable in the Board room as he was in a hole-in-the-wall burger joint in the middle of nowhere. His last wish was that all men get a prostate exam, because it can mean the difference between life and death. A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at FRENCH - Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
