Barbara Grimmer Strome

Age 85, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Strome and husband, Bill Saxton of Santa Cruz, CA, and Diane Strome Gagon and husband, Kenny of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Jayson Gagon and wife, Jenny, Daniel Saxton, Sarah Saxton, and Beau Gagon; and sister, Gloria Hathaway of Albuquerque. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Webster Strome, and daughter, Sandra Leigh Strome. Barbara's joy for life, unflagging optimism, and deep faith touched many lives. She co-founded a Juvenile Diabetes Camp in New Mexico. She was an avid skier and a member of the National Ski Patrol. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Barbara's life will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013, 12:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. John, 318 Silver Ave. SW.
