Barbara 'Barbi" Frances Grace

Barbara "Barbi" Frances Grace, age 56, was called to heaven at 4:56 pm on Sunday, December 13, 2015, following a sudden and massive stroke. Barbi was born in Albuquerque, NM, on July 11, 1959, to Oliver and Kathryn Frei. She is survived by her loving partner of 12 years, Danny Manweller; her daughters, Kathryn "Kat" Rose Grace-Newman and husband Scott, Kristina Maria Stafford and husband Daren; her grandchildren, Logan Crockett, Telana Stafford, Wesley Stafford and Graceyn Newman. She is also survived by her uncle and aunt, Paul and Janet Tafoya; brother, Larry Frei; her sisters, Lori Mann and husband Ron, Patti Scherer and husband Jack; stepbrothers, Lee Hightower and wife, AnnaLisa, Sean Frei and wife, Melissa. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who loved her dearly, including her canine loves, Addy and Rio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Kathryn Frei; her beloved "Nana," Mary Frei; her aunt, Shirley Qualls, and her nephews, Patrick and Christopher Mack. She worked as a Quality Control technician at CVI Laser Optics in Albuquerque for the past 11 years. She had a passion for exercise and fitness and took third place in the 2001 National Physique Committee (NPC) figure competition in Las Cruces. Barbi will be most remembered for her kind, compassionate and caring heart, her great love for family, her generous nature, and her love for animals, music, art, and a smile that would light up a room. She led a full and vibrant life, enjoying traveling and camping with her boyfriend and laughing at all of his jokes. She took great joy in spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, whom she adored. Her creative expressions were playing guitar and writing short stories for her grandchildren. Like her late father, she was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and would passionately cheer for them at every opportunity. We're certain that she spread her wings over Lambeau Field while joining her father and loved ones in heaven, reveling over the Packers win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. A Visitation and Funeral Service will be Monday, December 21, 2015, 12:00 noon at FRENCH - Lomas. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque.
