Barbara Georgitsis

Barbara Anne Ochoa Georgitsis, 59, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 1st, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born August 15th, 1965 in Los Angles, California, the daughter of Henry and Paula Ochoa.

Barbara graduated in 1983 from Gallup High School, then went on to University of New Mexico (UNM), earning a BS in Civil Engineering. After her graduation at UNM, she worked at Los Alamos National Labs, City of Albuquerque, Green Bay for the State of Wisconsin, Concord for the State of New Hampshire, and currently was worked for the City of Albuquerque.

Barbara especially loved going to concerts, trips, and spending time with friends and family.

Barbara was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Newport, NH for many years and served on the board. Also, she was part of St. George Orthodox Church in Albuquerque, NM, and St. Elias Orthodox Church of Santa Fe, NM. Barbara was an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina.

Barbara was family oriented, and all her family loved her. She made all her friends feel like family. She was always kind and brave. She was willing to help anyone that needed assistance. She was a true warrior and incredible mother, daughter, cousin and friend.

Remaining to cherish Barbara's memory are; mother, Paula Ochoa; son, Christos Georgitsis; and a large extended family and friends.

Preceding Barbara in death was father, Henry Ochoa.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 11:00 am at French Funerals and Cremations, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109

Fr. Conan from St. George Greek Orthodox Church will be officiating a memorial service at location.
