Barbara Jean Fentiman

April 7, 1930 — August 13, 2017

Barbara Jean Murray Fentiman passed away on August 13, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Longmont, CO on April 7, 1930 to Paul and Kathryn Murray. When Barbara was 14 years old, the family moved to Sterling, CO where Barbara graduated from Sterling High School in 1948. She attended Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, CO and in 1950 married Charles Trembath. They moved to Boulder, CO where both worked for what was then the National Bureau of Standards. After divorcing in 1968, Barbara moved to Washington D.C. where she was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency and spent her CIA career working in numerous countries overseas. She retired in January 1986, married Dan Fentiman, and moved to Santa Fe, NM. Barbara enjoyed Santa Fe until she moved in August 2006 to La Vida Llena retirement community in Albuquerque, NM where she lived until her death. Barbara was a member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister, Elaine Fitch; and brother, Max Murray.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Carter Hall at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, Albuquerque.

Barbara asked that memorial gifts be given to The Full Life Foundation, La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
