Barbara Fall, beloved wife of Dennis Addington and daughter of Wordon and Peg Warring, was born on Friday, February 23, 1951, and peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Today, we gather to fondly remember Barbara Fall, a cherished member of our congregation. Barbara embraced her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized on Sunday, January 11, 1998, at Woodland United Fellowship in Woodland, California. She and Dennis Addington attended the church and later married. Barbara had a deep interest in Biblical history and archaeology, playing a pivotal role in establishing the Museum of Biblical Archaeology in Woodland. She supported archaeological excavations, including the dig at Tall el-Hamam (Biblical Sodom) in Jordan, where Dennis participated from 2006 onwards. They worked together at the site in 2007 and 2008. Barbara and Dennis's dedication to their church was evident, and their departure to Albuquerque, New Mexico, was deeply felt by the congregation.
Throughout her life, Barbara remained steadfast in her faith and service to others in the name of the Lord. She fondly cherished her early years in Davis, California, alongside her then-partner Cheryl Fall, and her journey as a dedicated student and loving daughter.
During Barbara's Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 14, 2023, she spoke about her life journey and the profound impact of her faith, emphasizing her loving marriage with Dennis and their shared passion for the Mobile Reptile Zoo. Together, they educated communities about responsible pet ownership and the importance of reptiles in God's creation. An enthusiastic nature photographer, Barbara and Dennis explored many breathtaking locations, including the Middle East, where their involvement in archaeological digs supported the Museum of Biblical Archaeology in Woodland, showcasing artifacts from the Tall el-Hammam Excavation Project in Jordan.
Barbara's curiosity extended to tracking animal migrations, earning her wildlife certifications for her efforts in protecting God's diverse creations. With a degree in Social Studies from UCDavis, Barbara contributed to various environmental projects, particularly the preservation of Native American sites and artifacts, driven by her dedication to safeguarding historical and cultural legacies.
Together, Barbara and Dennis founded "DenBar," a business dedicated to community service through property cleanups and recycling efforts. Barbara was deeply committed to their work with the Wood Ministry, providing firewood to families in need during harsh New Mexico winters. Her tireless efforts to help others reflected her compassionate spirit and desire to make a positive impact.
As we gather once more to celebrate Barbara's life, we find comfort in knowing she is now with God, and in the embrace of her heavenly parents, surrounded by love and eternal light. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Dennis, Barbara's family, and friends who join us today, and those who are here in spirit to honor her memory and find solace in the profound impact she had on all of us.
