Barbara J. Van Dongen, a life-long resident of Albuquerque passed away November 13, 2016. She was active in her educational studies. Her career as a teacher and librarian was a life time commitment. Her leadership was supported in her local and national affiliations. Barbara loved art, gardening, and the outdoors of New Mexico.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; brother, Scott Chamberlin and family; and sister, Marian Smith and family.
A Service of Reflection on her Life will be held Friday, November 18, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr. NE.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Albuquerque Museum Foundation, P. O. Box 7006, Albuquerque, NM 87194.
