Barbara Cornwell was born in Yorkshire, England to Alice Komar and Ronald Harrison on October 3, 1945. Her mother married Leo Komar who quickly became dad to Barbara and her sister, Maria, who preceded her in death. The family moved to Canada when Barbara was age 10 and then moved again at age 13 to Grants, NM, where she soon after graduated from Grants High School. She moved to Albuquerque at age 18 to pursue her beautician license from a local beauty school. She met and married her husband, Jerry, on September 25, 1968, and they had recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
In 1976, Jerry and Barbara moved to Colorado where she began her career with the phone company, beginning as an overseas operator and working her way to upper management before retirement. She made many dear friends during those many years in Colorado.
Barbara was the bright light in her family. Always available with a warm hug, bright smile and a good chance of fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies sitting on her counter, she brought joy and a listening ear to those who knew and loved her. She never met a stranger and made many life long friends along the way.
Barbara is survived by her husband Jerry; children Troy, Sherry and Larry (by choice); children by marriage Dana, Peter, and Linne'; grandchildren Jarrett, Jesse, Jordan, Austin (his wife Bella), Hayden, Loren, Katie and Christina and many more family members that she loved dearly.
