Age 82, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Blessed with a loving family, steadfast friends and a beautiful Irish spirit, she was ready to embrace the Lord and reunite with those that preceded her in death, her cherished husband of sixty years, William H. Buck; her two sons, Stephen and Charles; as well as her parents, sister, brothers, grandson and great-grandson. Born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Barb and Bill moved to New Mexico in 1954 where they embarked on a life filled with happiness, faith and love. Her surviving children, Bill and his wife Sharon, Greg and his wife Annamarie, David and his wife Jeanne, Jerry and his wife Vicki, Brenda Carroll and her husband Chuck. Her daughters-in-law Karen and Pat, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will treasure the time times they spent with their "Mom," friend, advisor, and "Gram." Barb was an avid reader and loved to curl up with a good book. She could often be found searching for green Depression glass in the antique stores and spent many, many hours playing the piano and organ. Treasured were the years at Bluewater Lake where Barb and Bill built their dream "cabin in the woods," fished together and created a hummingbird refuge on their back porch. Barb loved music and the sound of any one of her kids or grandkids singing or playing an instrument. Kind, gentle, tough and resilient, Barb will be missed and forever loved by those whose lives she touched. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park. A reminder will run in the Journal the week of May 11, 2014. Donations to Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque are appreciated.
