She attended City Church in Albuquerque. She loved and trusted Jesus and also taught her family to do so. She could be counted on to lift up all of her family and those she knew in prayer. As a young person Barbara played piano, and sang with her sister, even performing on the radio. Drawing portraits and fashion design occupied many hours for her at different periods of her life. She also designed and sewed clothes for herself and her children. In the 1960’s she worked as a nurse’s aide. Volksmarches, and travel to European countries and Russia were favorite activities in past years. Reading and photography were two of her greatest hobbies. She also took care of her mother, Ruth Armstrong for eight years in her home.
