Age 89, little did we know God would call her name on December 15, 2012. It broke our hearts to lose our mother who was an inspiration to our life. As our mother left, she took a part of our heart. Our mother had a passion for life and an unconditional love for her four children, Marty Zamora, Jr., and his wife, Jessie, Diana C. Z. Matsumoto and husband, Neal of Monterey, CA, Elizabeth Armijo and her husband, Johnny and Richard Zamora and wife, Deborah. She was born on March 24, 1923 at 1823 S. Williams, San Jose, to her parents Simon and Nettie Barela. Our mother was a native of Albuquerque. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and retired from the Albuquerque School District. She loved her grandchildren Christina, Jennifer, April, Anthony Z., Anthony H., Taylor, Christopher, Michael, Laura, Marissa, David, Matthew and great grandchildren; Reginald, Mykayla and Davyn, and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. She is also survived by her sisters, Florinda Lopez, Rosella Lerma and Esther Barela. She was preceded in death by her beloved late husband, Martin A. Zamora, was a retired Sargent of the Albuquerque Police Department, a Golden Glove Champion and a member of the Albuquerque Hall of Fame. A Rosary will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 7:00pm at FRENCH- Wyoming. A mass of the resurrection will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 10:00am at the Church of The Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
