Auline Platt, 50, of Albuquerque, NM, our wife, daughter, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 23, 2017, after a short battle with colon cancer. She is survived by many family and friends - far too numerous to mention here.
First and foremost, Auline loved her Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. Everything she did, she did to glorify and worship Him. You may not always have noticed it, because of how much fun you were having when you were around her, but she loved you in the name of the Lord. Next, Auline loved her family and friends - there wasn't often a line between the two, because when you were Auline Platt's friend, you were automatically family and she loved and served you with fierceness that was at the same time overwhelming and amazing. For some, unknown, but truly cherished reason, she tolerated and loved her husband, Mike. She adored her children, Seth, Noah, Briana, Carnell, Ava, Isaac, Saniya, Ferrari, Jacob, Adriana, Israel, Ryanne, Matt and Georgie with a deep, intentional, unbridled love that was truly unequaled on this earth. She made deep friendships that lasted a lifetime. She made them quickly and without hesitation. Before you knew it, you were in love with Auline and felt like you had known her forever.
Auline was a proud Filipina immigrant, who came to this country when she was 12-years-old. She gave it as much, if not more, than it gave her. She graduated from St Dominic's Academy in Jersey City, NJ and Rutgers University. She taught first and second grade at St Benedicts Elementary School in Newark, NJ, 75th Street School in South Central Los Angeles, CA and at Hawthorne Elementary in Albuquerque, NM before beginning to raise her family.
She traveled the world with Mike and the Air Force, touching hearts and lives in Los Angeles, CA, Dayton, OH, Albuquerque, NM, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, and Washington, DC before finally joining Mike in retirement from Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Auline reveled in being part of the Air Force spouses' community. In it, she found a place to mentor and serve women (and a few guys), young and old. She truly enjoyed making people fall in love with the Air Force way of life (and hopefully Jesus Christ too in the process).
After Mike's retirement, Auline adopted a new community - the International District and Highland High School. She was honored to be an adopted Hornet and loved cooking meals for the football and tennis teams, cheering at games, cooking funnel cakes, and just about anything else that needed to be done to help out her team.
To say Auline Platt will be missed is to try to imagine what the world would be like without oxygen. It just doesn't seem as if you will be able to survive without her and yet we trust God when we are told in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." So we, as a family and a community, grieving the loss of our wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, need to know that He has a plan for our redemption and a mission for us in His kingdom that will be far better than we can imagine, even if we don't have Auline to share it with for a while.
You will be missed and mourned and celebrated, Auline, my love, but never forgotten. Rest in His all-encompassing peace.
