Audrey Jeanne Ramsey (Munsey), a longtime resident of Albuquerque died peacefully on February 29, 2016 at the age of 92.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband James Theodore Ramsey (Ted); father and step-mother, Fred and Peggy Munsey; mother Idel Roth Munsey; and sister Rosemary Weber (Harry).
Audrey is survived by her daughters Carol Jones and husband Gary, Denise Ballou and husband Brian; grandchildren Heather Mulligan (Conrad) of Seattle, WA, Bret Ballou (Lisa) of Santa Clara, CA, Shaun Ballou Prizio (David) of Flagstaff, AZ; great-grandchildren Emma and Erin Mulligan, and Evan and Julia Ballou; cousins Betty Fishman and Fan Walker, and numerous extended family and friends.
Audrey was born in Dallas, TX on March 17, 1923. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1940. She attended Southern Methodist University where she met Ted and they were married in March 1942. During WWII they moved around the US as Ted was stationed in Chicago and Washington before serving in the South Pacific. Audrey moved back to Dallas until the end of the war. After living in Texas and Louisiana for several years, the family moved to Albuquerque in 1957.
Audrey began her career in banking as a Kelly Girl before working for 20 years at Sandia Federal Savings and Loan. She retired as a Vice President in 1987.
Audrey was an avid golfer and she and Ted played several times a week at Four Hills Country Club. She also enjoyed gardening and worked many hours cultivating a beautiful flower garden; however, her greatest passion was bridge. She loved her many bridge clubs; the Tuesday Artichoke group, the Monday foursome, and Cosmopolitan Woman's Club marathon foursomes to name a few. She really loved the challenge of the game as well as all her wonderful friends. Audrey was always a voracious reader, which became even more of a passion in her later years.
The family would like to thank Presbyterian Hospice for their support and care of Audrey.
