Arturo Orlando Brito, "Landy," 74, of Albuquerque, NM, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 22, 2014. Arturo, born in Estancia, NM, on September 17, 1940 to Eugenio and Josefita (Serna) Brito, was the youngest of seven children. He moved to Albuquerque in 1958 upon graduating from high school. After serving in the Army from 1963 to 1966, he worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 41 years. He was a man of great faith and raised his three children with his loving wife of 46 years in the Catholic church at St. Charles Borromeo, where he served in many ministries. His interests also included classic cars. He was the proud owner of a 1929 Model-A and enjoyed being a member of a classic car club. He is preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings and his granddaughter, Adelina. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, and three children: sons, Art Jr. (Sharon), Matthew (Stephanie) and daughter, Tanya (Jim) Sauerhoefer. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Joseph, Micah, Ethan, Luke, Eva, Annalise and Jude. A Rosary is scheduled for Thursday, January 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Place SE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
