Arturo, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on August 26, 1922. Arturo was a barber for over 50 years, starting with the Plaza Barber Shop in Santa Fe and retiring from the Upland Barber Shop on Pennsylvania Ave in Albuquerque. During the depression, Arturo participated in the CCC program, which prepared him for active duty on the Eastern Front during WWII. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Agneda R. Lucero; his parents, Jose and Carlota Lucero of Las Vegas, NM; his in-laws, Alfredo and Eloisa Romero of Las Vegas, NM; his brother, Ramon Lucero of Albuquerque; sisters, Ignacita Lucero and Florentina Montano of Pueblo, Co; and other loving in-laws. Arturo is survived by his daughter, Angie Lucero; special nieces, Myra Aragon, Antoinette Pracht, and Donna Cordova; sisters-in-law, Elena Lucero and Emma Romero; and many other friends, family and customers that he loved. Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 5, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH-Lomas with Visitation one hour prior from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
