Chief Master Sergeant Arthur J. Hurley Sr. born in Bayonne, NJ March 2, 1935 passed into our Lords arms on Sunday, May 9, 2021.  He was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lawrence and Mildred Hurley.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juana E. Hurley, of Albuquerque, NM and his children, Arthur J. Hurley Jr. and his wife Mary Hurley, Lydia Drew and her husband Michael, David Hurley and his wife Shelly, Barbara Hurley and her husband Paul Bartolo, Mark Hurley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Poesl and family.

He served in the USAF and was a Korean War Veteran and also participated in Operation Hardtack 1 in the Pacific Proving Grounds 1958.  He also served as Top Sergeant for the 150 Communications Flight New Mexico Air National Guard where he received Outstanding NCO of the year awards in 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1994.  He was Honorably discharged after 26 years combined service at the grade of E9 Chief Master Sergeant.

He was very active in the racquetball community and actively played until 2017.  He held a Senior Men’s World Racquetball Championship and many State Championships in various divisions both singles and doubles.  He enjoyed mentoring young people and taught Racquetball to young children at both Highpoint and Riverpoint Health Clubs.

He ran a successful Accounting and Tax Consulting Business for 45 years.  He loved live music and dancing.  His highest priorities were his family, his country, and his community.  He gave very generously to many charities such as Joy Junction, Brothers of the Good Shepherd, Brother Mathias, God’s Kitchen, and many various Veterans organizations.

He lived his life with a positive optimistic upbeat attitude.  He was a helping hand to many, a loyal friend to the end for many and was always known as the life of the party.  He will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
