1924 - 2018

Arthur “Art” Alires, age 93, much loved father, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, passed away March 2, 2018.

Art was a gentlemanly tough guy always smiling and laughing and willing to lend a hand. Art loved dancing, fishing, old westerns, and hard work. Art was proud of his service in the Army, his lifelong career with Safeway stores, and decades of service at St. Bernadette and Sangre De Cristo Catholic churches. Family always came first to Art. His sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews were always in his heart.

Art adored all five of his daughters, his sons-in-law, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His words of wisdom will carry on for many generations to come. Art is reunited in Heaven with his wife and true love, Stella, and all his family who have gone on before him.

A Celebration of Art's Life will be on Friday, March 9, 2018, at FRENCH - Lomas with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 2:30 p.m. A Reception will follow where guests may share their favorite memories of Art. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Disabled Veterans of America, 500 Gold Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 or the charity of your choice.
