Arline Skindelien

The afternoon of May 21, 2016, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to take her place with her husband in heaven. Arline was born January 24, 1931 to Laura and Ruben Hollen. She was a loving, caring person her whole life. She was a military wife and loved traveling the world. She and her husband Vernon moved to Albuquerque in 1987. Arline took care of the church nursery at Cross of Hope Lutheran church for 25 years before retiring. Her family meant everything to her. She loved taking care of people and never met a person who she didn't like.
She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Pelosa and husband Joe, and son Ron Skindelien, all of Albuquerque; her grandsons, Parker Skindelien, Joey Pelosa, and Jason Pelosa and wife Tanya. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Naleah Krug, Averilla Pelosa, Jason Pelosa Jr., Jayleen Pelosa, and Jenaya Pelosa. She is survived by her brothers, Gordon Hollen and wife Norma, Morine Hollen and wife Inga, Lowell Hollen and wife Mary, Kermit Hollen and wife Francis; sisters, Ethel Mellgren and husband Gene, and Audrey Larson and husband Richard. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends Jan Anderson and Florence Begay.
The family extends special thanks to Pastors Matt and Adam of Cross of Hope church and the doctors and nurses at Lovelace Hospital and Ambercare Hospice.
A Viewing will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. A Private family burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
