Archie Evan Sanchez

Archie Evan Sanchez, age 83, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away December 30, 2017. He was born in San Luis, CO on May 11, 1934. Archie grew up in Colorado and Wyoming before serving in the Air Force as a Load Master. After serving, he attended Adams State College in Colorado where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education then came to Albuquerque to teach. This is where he met his wife of 57 years, Flora.

Archie pursued other teaching opportunities in Tacoma, Washington, Carlsbad, New Mexico, Alamosa, Colorado, then made New Mexico his home for the rest of his life. As a life-long learner, he continued his studies and earned a second Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling. While serving as the High School Senior Counselor for the Bernalillo Public Schools, he simultaneously embarked on a second career in Real-estate. He retired from Bernalillo Public Schools after more than 30 years.

After retirement, Archie directed his energies into travel with friends and family and doting over his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Flora; son, Archie and daughter in-law, Jacqueline Dean; daughter, Victoria; son, Christopher and daughter in-law, Lorene Robb; son, Carlos and daughter in-law, Gracie Campos; and the loves of his life, his grandchildren: Evan, Aaron, Christian, Isabella, Megan, Hannah, Christopher, and Kimberly.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at FRENCH-Wyoming.
