April F. Price passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a long battle with cancer. April was born on Friday, April 13, 1951 in El Paso, Texas to Amelda and Sol Franklin, Jr. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1957 and April attended Cortez Elementary, Jefferson Middle School, and graduated from Highland High School in 1969. April graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1972. She commenced teaching at the Technical Vocational Institute in Albuquerque for eight years before returning to UNM for studies in art, architecture and business, graduating with a Master of Business Administration. She was a lover of many art forms and had a keen eye for details of form, function, and beauty which allowed her to have a successful career as an interior designer and artist. In 2010 she opened the April Price Projects Gallery in downtown Albuquerque which she closed in 2020.
She was an enthusiastic volunteer for the Harwood Museum in Taos, New Mexico and the Albuquerque Museum of Art.
April was preceded in death by her parents; and her sons, Adam Price and Charles Ryan Price.
She is survived by her son, Ethan Price and his wife, Erin and their son, Theodore; her brother, Tod Franklin and his wife, Karen and their children, Kameron and Logan of Dallas, Texas; and her sister, Susan Maxberry and her son, Chris Rockhold of Lawton, Oklahoma.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH-University with a Reception to follow.
She will be missed by her family, clients, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the nonprofit Albuquerque Outpost Performance Space.
