April Lind Neidigk, born October 17, 1983 in Taos, New Mexico, went home to Jesus her Savior, December 15, 2015. April was the beloved wife of Nathan D. Neidigk and wonderful mother of Elizabeth Faith and Michael David Oscar Neidigk. Her parents and in-laws remember her as a daughter they are incredibly proud of. Her family and friends remember her as extremely smart, an amazing hostess, and an incredibly creative decorator. She made her home a warm and welcoming space. Her Christian faith was strong, living and active, and moved her to great compassion toward her patients and families at UNM Hospital. Along with Nathan, she taught the preschoolers at Calvary Lutheran Church. She earned two bachelor degrees at UNM.
April leaves behind her husband, Nathan, three-year-old Elly and seven-month-old Mikey. Also surviving her are her parents Gary and Glenda Schaefer of Taos, NM; her father and mother-in-law Don and Kathy Neidigk; her sister Heather (Mike) Peterson; grandparents Leroy and Gladys Beusch of Albuquerque, grandfather Al Schaefer of Phoenix, AZ and grandmother Carol (Gary) Engel of Rapid City, SD, as well as her aunt Stephanie (Joe) Hautem; her aunt Cathy (Rus) Brown and her aunt Bonnie (Mark) Smith - all of Phoenix, AZ; her uncle Burt (Becki) Beusch of Seattle, WA, her uncle Brad (Connie) Beusch of Rapid City, SD and her best friend since childhood, Stephanie (Jesse) Hagen, who lives in Albuquerque.
Also surviving her are her brothers-in-law Matthew (Valerie) Neidigk and Stephen (Nicole) Neidigk of Albuquerque. There are five cousins, 11 nieces and nephews and dozens of friends who loved her.
A visitation for family and close friends will be held Monday, December 21, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. April's Funeral and the celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church (LCMS), 305 Unser Blvd., in Rio Rancho, NM. Pastor Quintin Cundiff will officiate. Following a private interment at Sunset Memorial Park on Menaul Blvd., all are welcome to a meal at the Italian American Hall at 1565 Stephanie Rd., in Rio Rancho.
April's family is saddened beyond words by her loss but as Christians, we are comforted in this Advent season by Holy Scripture which says, "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." (Isaiah 9:2) We believe that this promised Light is Jesus Christ whose death and resurrection has brought April eternal life.
