Antonio "Tony" F. Chavez

Antonio "Tony" F. Chavez, a life-time resident of Albuquerque, joined our Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and his son Pat. He is survived by his four children, Antonio M. (Sallie)Chavez ;Lorenzo (Dolores)Chavez; Charles Chavez; Veronica (Kevin)Garner. Antonio had five grandchildren, Joshua Chavez, Corey (Marisa)Chavez; Jennifer (Damian)Fernandez; Michael (Keya)Chavez; Derek (Shelby)Chavez and great-granddaughter Kalaya Chavez. Antonio was born January 12, 1934. He married Mary, the love of his life, on May 4, 1954, and they were married until her passing. They raised five children in Albuquerque. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and attended St. Joseph's College. Tony worked for Prudential for many years, until his retirement. Along with his wife they were active members in their church. And they also served as volunteers and members of the choir. Tony loved sports and thoroughbred horse racing. He had a sharp mind and was quick witted. Tony had
supportive and loving nature.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022, 9:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Tony will be laid to rest and reunited with his wife at The Santa Fe National Cemetery.
