Antonio G. “Tony” Silva of Albuquerque passed away on December 10, 2017, thirteen days before his 99th birthday. He was born on December 23, 1918 in a farming valley just south of T or C, NM. Tony graduated from Hot Springs High School in T or C and after the war completed two years of community college.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Velma; his son, Oscar Donald; his parents; two sisters; and one brother. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa; and his brother, Edward. Tony leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and God children.
Tony was a disabled veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged from the Army after the war. Tony retired from federal government and was then able to indulge his passion for golfing on a more regular basis. Tony hit two holes-in-one during his golfing years, a testament to his golfing skill. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting casinos across the state. Tony was loved by many and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, with Mass at 12:00 noon, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 515 N Date St. in T or C, NM. Interment will follow at Vista Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be a reception following in the church hall. Pallbearers will be Tony’s nephews.
