LUCERO, ANTONIO (Tony) H. March 6, 1926 - August 31, 2012At age 86 years young and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque Tony passed away at his home, August 31, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa G. Lucero; his parents, Eulogio and Emilia Lucero; grandchildren, Carlos F. (Chucky) Lucero, Andrew Wike and Jdanita Mae Wike. He is also survived by his sister Jane Padilla of Albuquerque; his loving children all from Albuquerque, Antonio (Tony) Lucero, Jr. and wife, Frances; Carlos Lucero and wife, Marilyn; Marie V. Valdez and husband, Del; Leroy G. Lucero and wife, Becky; Eulogio G. (Ogee) Lucero and wife, Brenda; Richard L. Lucero; Rudy H. Lucero and girlfriend, Debbie Ortiz; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces; his girlfriend, Peggy Sanchez and family. Antonio served in the United States Navy during World War II, was a member the VFW and the American Legion. He retired from the City of Albuquerque after working 33 years. Antonio enjoyed big game hunting, fishing and going to the local casinos and senior centers. Special thanks to his sister Jane, sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends who came to visit with him and the Hospice of Sandias, Dr. Carol L. Morovka, Patricia McKinney, R.N., Myra Rodriguez, Chaplain Juarez, Griselda Fierro and Kim Montgomery, and Chris Lueras, Consultant. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Al McLean on Wednesday, September 5 6:00 p.m. at French - Lomas, and Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Norbert Choong and assisted by Deacon Joe Santana on Thursday, September 6 at 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road N.E. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, on Thursday, September 6 at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will Randy I. Martinez, Antonio Valdez, Ben Archuleta, Edgar Zuniga, Leo Santillanes and Leroy Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers are Florencio Gallegos, Joe Astorga and John Bloomfield.
