Antonio Joseph (Tony) Bandoni, Jr. born November 19, 1932 passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Bandoni; children, Steven R. Bandoni and Gina Louise Bandoni (partner Peggy Lowe); five grandchildren, Uneik Ferrel, Dane Bandoni, Aaron and Kendal Paul (wife Destinie), and Michael Bandoni; two great-grandchildren, Rikar and Venn Ferrel; daughter-in-law, Amelia Bandoni of Glendale, CA. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Bandoni; parents, Antonio and Ida Bandoni; his brothers, Frank and Joseph; sisters, Anita and Mary.
Tony went into the restaurant business with his brothers Frank and Joseph. He later worked in sales at Western Office Systems. Tony was a referee for local High Schools and Colleges in all three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. He was a member of the Rio Grande Lions Club for many years and served as District Governor from 1972-1973. Tony also volunteered at Casa Angelica. He was known for his famous whistle! God gave Tony the whistle and Tony said, " Here I come."
The family would like to give thanks to Compassus Healthcare and Inteli-Care (especially Monica Perez) for the healthcare provided to Tony.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Josephs Dr. NW in Albuquerque.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Casa Angelica.
