Ann Marie Burke

Ann Marie Burke (Garfield), age 81, passed away at home on April 29, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.

Ann was born in Waverly, New York to Mike and Angeline Garfield on August 7, 1939. She was the youngest of five children. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico as a young adult where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Burke. They were married on January 30, 1965. Ann and Ken had two daughters, Jamie Ann Morley and Lisa Burke Joyce, who gave them two grandsons, Kenneth James Morley and Owen Kenneth Joyce. Nothing brought her more joy than her daughters and grandsons!

Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and friend. She was an excellent cook who regularly made food for families that had experienced a loss. She enjoyed camping, fishing, watching hummingbirds, cruising, attending Kenny's sports games and the traditional Saturday night pinochle game with their very best friends, Patti and Dave Van Pelt. Ann filled the house with love and laughter. It was the place throughout the years where all the kids would gather. Everybody was welcomed at the Burke's!

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Angeline Garfield; brothers, Joe and Mike Garfield; sister, Mary Garfield; and Great Grandchild, Madalyn Juliana Morley. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Burke; daughter, Jamie Morley and son-in-law Nate Morley; daughter Lisa Joyce and son-in-law Owen Joyce; Grandsons, Kenny Morley and wife Jillian and Owen Joyce; Sister, Sue Maloney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

A memorial viewing will be held at French's Mortuary on Wyoming from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm on May 27th. A funeral mass will be celebrated At Our Lady of the Annunciation Church at 10:00 am on May 28th immediately followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Corus Hospice and her health care provider, Heather Drager, PA.
