Annette Lockwood

It is with great joy and sadness we celebrate the life of Annette Lockwood. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the home of her granddaughter and in the loving care of her family and friends. Annette was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, and came to enchant us after spending her early years in Fort Madison, Iowa.

After high school, Annette eschewed custom and left home to work for the Rodeo Cowboy Association. Eventually she found love, marrying Howard Lockwood in 1959. Their life together brought them two daughters, and a multitude of memories. Annette was "famous" from her longtime stint sharing smiles and serving local patrons at the Caravan on Central, and, for fulfilling her lifelong dream and making her acting debut in the second episode of Better Call Saul.

Annette is survived by her sister, Arlene; daughters, MariLee and Kathy; 10 grandkids; six great-grands; along with countless friends and loved ones.

A celebration of Annette is scheduled for April 21st 2-4 pm at French's on Lomas and Eubank. Any who wish to share this time of reflection, please come and join us in tears and laughter. We know there are many who were blessed in knowing this exemplary woman, let's come together to lift her memory as an offer of peace to our troublesome grief.

Annette always wanted to be remembered in happiness and, gosh-darn it, that's exactly what we're gonna do! As one of her favorite poems says, "Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die."





Our loving mom and grandma, Annette Lockwood, went home with Jesus Apr. 2, 2018. We rejoice in her amazing love for us: MariLee, Isaac, Joe, Rose, Jeremiah & Kathy Lockwood, CJ & Macy, Sarah, Ben & Mary Loeppke, JoJo & Brian Blankenship, Claudia, Penny & Javien Chavez, Terrance & Devon Ball, Zoey, Khalil & Leonard Harris.
