Anne E. Murphy

Anne E. Murphy, 96, was born in Marinette, WI on July 7,1918. She died, December 22, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. She graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Marinette and attended St. Mary's Teachers College in Prairie du Chien, WI. Prior to joining the American National Red Cross in 1945, she was City Clerk of Marinette. Her Red Cross career included overseas assignments in Honolulu, Guam, The Philippines, Korea, Japan and Germany. Stateside she worked in Washington, DC, St. Louis Richard-Gebaur AFB, MO and San Francisco/Burlingame, CA. She retired from Red Cross in 1984 and moved to Albuquerque, NM and resided at La Vida Llena Retirement Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Murphy; sister Mary Katherine; brother James; and brother John and his wife Gertrude. She is survived by her nephews Patrick, James and Thomas; niece Mary Bretscher and by her grandnieces and grandnephews. Burial will be in the Murphy Family Plot in Menominee, MI.
