May 20, 2018, Anna Marie Van Gaasbeek passed away after a long illness at the age of 59.
Raised in Albuquerque, Anna was an artist, bartender and music aficionado. In the 1980’s she was one of Albuquerque’s favorite bartenders, working at Ned’s, The Hungry Bear, and Beyond Ordinary. In the 1990’s she relocated to Seattle, where she continued to paint, bartend and helped promote bands in the Seattle music scene by designing band tee shirts and album covers. After her illness made it impossible to work, she returned to Albuquerque to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.K and Rita Van Gaasbeek. She is survived by her brother, Jon Van Gaasbeek.
A Memorial Service will be held in her adopted hometown of Seattle.
Donations in her memory can be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation. Feel free to toast her memory with a shot of Jagermeister, or your favorite local craft beer.
