Anna Lee Torres 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1982, died Saturday July 8, 2023. She is survived by her daughters Jeannine Whiting and husband Jeff, Dana Gonzales and husband Marty, and Julie Torres; grandchildren Antoinette Whiting, Martin Gonzales (Crystal) Matthew Whiting (Sarah), Alejandro Sanchez (Karena)Heather Gonzales (Andrew), Maximiliano Sanchez, Anna Sanchez and Danielle Sanchez. Great- grandchildren Aidan, Jace, Jaxson Cuffley, Lathan, Olivia and Mila Gonzales, Emory, Santiago Whiting and Teo Sanchez all of Albuquerque. Brother Ronnie McGinnis of Evansville, Ind. Sister-in-laws Delia Ghiotto, Lucille Torres, Mary Helen Torres, Teri Torres all of Yuma, AZ. Mary Louise Escudero and Mary Helen Nunez both of Sacramento, CA. Brother-in-laws Alex, Robert and Gene Torres of Yuma, AZ and other numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Anna is preceded in death by the love of her life Danny; mother Elizabeth McGinnis; sisters Helen and Marcia McGinnis; mother-in-law Jesse Castro Torres. Anna was born in Murray, Kentucky and moved to Evansville as a child. She graduated from Central High School. She met Danny while he was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Anna left her family to marry Danny in Yuma, AZ. They married Saturday, February 26, 1966, and started their family. They moved to SLC, Utah for a couple of years and finally settled in Albuquerque where her family continued to grow. Anna worked for various insurance companies. She will be missed dearly. Services to be held Tuesday July 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum located in Sunset Memorial Park. Interment will take place immediately following the service.
