Andrew Trace

May 2, 1974 — October 3, 2023

Andrew Vincent Trace passed away unexpectedly at home after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 with his wife Mary, by his side. He was a loving husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, friend and Funny Guy to his niece and 3 nephews. Andrew was born on Thursday, May 2, 1974 in Albuquerque, NM to Margaret (McNamara) and Raymond Trace.

Andrew and Mary had a 29- year adventure together which often included riding and racing motorcycles, and attending motorsport events. Andrew raced his Suzuki GSXR-600 and later his 2 prized Honda RS250R race bikes at tracks in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Colorado and California. He and Mary attended several World SuperBike events at the former Miller Motorsport Park in Tooele, Utah and a couple of MotoGP events at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. Their favorite race vacation was to Italy where they attended the MotoGP races at Mugello Race Park, outside of Florence, Italy. Another trip to COTA involved attending the Formula One races with brother-in-law, Mike. They met and had photographs taken with world-class motorcycle racers from all over the world on several occasions.

Pets were a central focus of his life, and Andrew spoiled each one. Over the years, he and Mary adopted and rescued many dogs and a cat. His friends and co-workers used to joke they wanted to come back as a dog at his house because of their pampered lifestyle.

Andrew graduated from Menaul High School, and worked in the automotive industry for almost 30 years, where he made many life-long friends. Most recently he became a community support provider for a young adult with disabilities, and loved every moment of his time spent with his client.

Andrew's cousin, Matt, summed up his life in a touching memory - "Andrew was a wonderful human being who brought smiles and laughter to so many people. I will always remember him as the one in the room with the funniest and wittiest comments. He was also incredibly talented and smart. He was a loved partner, son, brother, nephew and cousin. He will be missed by many".

Andrew is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Margaret; brother Colin, and wife Isabelle Chavez; and their sons, Lucas and Vincent; sister Maureen Hopkins, and her husband Paul; and their children Jack and Nora; brother-in-law Michael (Mike) Molumby; his aunt and uncle, Ellen (Trace) and Richard Menor; and cousin Bryan Menor and his family; and his aunt Anne McNamara and cousins, Matthew and Alexis and their families. He is also survived by his partner in crime, Ryann and precious pups, Penny, George and Tuesday.

He was preceded by his father, Raymond Trace, his father and mother-in-law, James and Evelyn Molumby, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and many beloved pets. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andrew's name to Doberman Rescue of New Mexico.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 at The Shrine of St. Bernadette with Services to follow at 10:00 a.m. and Reception at the parish hall afterwards.
