A resident of Tijeras, died April 30, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Woodworth; children, Judith B. Rutkiewic of Berlin, MD, David M. Rutkiewic and wife Becky of Salem, SC, Carol E. Cason and husband Christopher of Williamsburg, VA, Steven A. Rutkiewic of Preston, MD, and two step children. He is also survived by five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one step-great grandson and one great granddaughter and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Rutkiewic was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Mae; his daughter Kathryn Ann; his parents, John & Caroline Rutkiewic. He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard before retiring as a Captain. Mr. Rutkiewic was a research chemist for E.I. Dupont and retired after 30 + years. Andrew was a member of Holy Child Parish and was very active with the NMSLRHS and the restoring the AT&SF 2926 Steam Locomotive. He was also a volunteer with the US Forest Service and a docent for the Friends of Tijeras Pueblo Interpretive Center, which was constructed under his direction. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Parish, 19 Camino del Santo Nino #A, Tijeras, NM. There will also be a Memorial Celebration of Life, pending time, day & location. Interment will take place at St Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to NMSLRHS, for the restoration of the 2926 Steam Locomotive, PO Box 27270, Albuquerque, NM 87125-7270.
