Andrea Collinge

June 17, 1944 — July 25, 2013

Otherwise know to her friends as "Annie" sharp shooter, passed away on July 25, 2013, as a result of complications from an ATV accident. Andrea had a love and passion for dancing, shooting guns, riding horses, and otherwise enjoying life. She was a world-class skier and the first women in Canada to drive "formula ford" racing cars in competition and win. She was also an avid trout fisher, a PADI scuba dive master, a wind surfer, and had a passion for training and coaching people to ride horses. She competed in numerous horse endurance races and her goal was to compete in the Tevis Cup and eventually make it to the endurance race in Saudi Arabia. Andrea was part owner and operator of A C Engineering Enterprises, LLC, an electrical engineering firm based in Albuquerque, NM. Andrea was born in Switzerland and grew up there, and eventually moved to Montreal, Canada where she worked for McClain Hunter as a journalist for an oil and gas publication magazine, which enabled her to travel extensively all over the world. In her spare time she enjoyed skiing in places like up-state New York, Vermont (Stowe, Jay Peak), and in Europe (Zurs, Austria was her favorite). In the late 1980's Andrea left Montreal for Rhode Island where she learned how to scuba dive, wind surf, and sail boats. Eventually her love of the mountains and skiing drove her south west to Taos, New Mexico. She would recall many fond memories of "skiing excursions in the American West" as she liked to call it. She lived in Taos for a number of years, teaching and training friends and native Taos Pueblo Indians to ride horses. In her spare time she would help herd cattle in the mountains of northern New Mexico. Andrea was extremely hard working, lived every day as if it were her last, and was never afraid to take chances. She was always trying to find ways to help people less fortunate than her. She was an inspiration to all that knew and loved her. We will miss her dearly. She leaves behind her husband, Fred J. (Bud) Telck; her dog Natasha; her son James Collinge; and grandkids Stephanie and Christopher of Austin, Texas.
