Amy Burger

Amy Burger, 85, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away March 12, 2024 at her second home in Albuquerque, NM where she was spending the winter near her daughter. 

Born in Rosedale, NY in 1938 to parents Charles and Amy Krumm, she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, and worked as a legal secretary for several years in Manhattan. She married Alfred Burger on October 6, 1962 in Richmond Hill, welcoming to their union son Christopher in 1963 and daughter Wendy in 1968. The family relocated to Poughkeepsie in 1969. 

Amy was very involved in the community and with her children, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Troop Leader, running Book Fairs at the elementary school, hosting Tupperware parties, serving as a tour director with Leprechaun Lines, and as a member of the congregation at New Hackensack Reformed Church. 

She is survived by her husband, children, and grandson, Cameron Pase, who will all miss her dearly. 

A Celebration of Life is planned on June 27, 2024 at 4:00pm at New Hackensack Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church, or the charity of your choice.
