Our most gentle giant, Ambros Eriq Archuleta joined God's Angels on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 (we figure he is assigned to Security). He passed peacefully in his sleep after battling a number of illnesses the last few years. His beloved "Papa" (Grandfather Filimon Torrez) and Grandmother Selma Torrez, Grandpa and Grandma Cip & Mary Archuleta and Uncle Kenneth Torrez welcomed him home. He was born the day after Christmas on December 26, 1981, was only thirty-six and a 2000 graduate of Valley High. Ambros spent many years first in the Army and in the 877th Army Reserve Unit based here in Albuquerque. The military was his love and passion. He also worked many years in the office at K-Ram Construction. He will be remembered for how the children in our lives loved his sweetness and kindness and his ability to make them laugh. He taught all of us that life often does not give us the breaks we want, but God does give us the grace to cope. He also had a special place in his great big heart for all the unloved and unwanted cats in the whole wide world. He took in many (currently Pizuzu, Chairman Meow and Reagan). He fed and cared for many others. He joins his cousins Ed and Ricky Switzer to read and discuss the all things Kaiju and the world of super heroes and will leave the mundane of the regular world to the rest of us. His two best friends, Auntie Ida and Auntie Karen will miss his eternal quest for the perfect bowl of chile and beans and the best Chinese buffet in the universe. His good friends and family will only have to look up to remember Ambros has their back. His always-caring and beautiful Mother Karla Hicks and husband Patrick Hicks, his father Charles Archuleta, brother Dante and sister Marissa and step sisters Krystal, Kimberly, Kourtney & Jessica will miss him most of all. We all smile and know Ambros is peacefully, and with slight irreverence, making sure we have a spot saved to join him in good time. We all love you Ambros.
