Amadita Hazel Chavez, 84, beloved wife and mother, was called to her Eternal resting place on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She entered this world on Thursday, January 14, 1937, in Albuquerque, NM born to Filiberto and Piedad Sanchez.
Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jose Chavez; son, Tony and wife, Consuelia Chavez; daughter, Angela and husband, Shaun Reed; and seven grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Hagel, Niya and Cora Chavez, Elijah Yazzie, and Michael and Alyssa Chavez. She is also survived by her last living sister, Grace and brother-in-law, Dave Torres.
Hazel was a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom who volunteered for anything and everything. She was always involved in the community and touched many lives. She loved her children and treated her grandchildren as her own. She always made you feel welcome when you entered her home and was an amazing cook...especially her red chile and tortillas! She was always willing to help others and had such a calm and sweet demeanor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
