Allyn Whitehouse passed away Oct 2, 2014. He was born in 1931 in Ink, AK, to Henry and Cordilla Whitehouse, and was preceded in death by his two brothers; Vernie and Paul, and two sisters Florence and Lela. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, sons Alan and Edwin; daughter-in-law Charlene, and precious granddaughters Kellie and Megan; sisters Coy-vie and Faye. Soon after graduating from high school, Allyn joined the Army, and served 3 years, then after discharge went into police work. First with the city police in Artesia, then with NM State Police from whence he retired in 1979. Then his real love began... .playing Bluegrass music, winning several awards and playing on stage with various bands in ten different states including "Austin City Limits" Always up-beat and ready to laugh, and confirming "his was a wonderful life" made possible by two wonderful and trouble free sons, a loving daughter-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters. Allyn will be dearly missed, but we'll look forward to seeing him on the other side. Services will be held Thursday, October, 09, 2014, 2:00 p.m., FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will be held Friday October 10, 2014 9:45a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
