Alida A. Schnedler

d. July 2, 2018

Alida Schnedler went home to her Lord on July 2, 2018. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on August 31, 1924. She married Albert A. Schnedler on August 11, 1945.  Being married to a serviceman meant many moves during the early part of their marriage. The moving ended when they arrived in Albuquerque, NM, in 1952 and started a civilian life. They were blessed with three children.  Alida worked for the UNM Admissions Office during the 1970’s. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church and was very active in the Church where she volunteered her time for anything needed.  She was known for her hard work and friendly personality.

After the death of her husband, Alida moved to La Vida Llena to live the remainder of her life.  She is survived by her three children; Joyce Fisher (Tom), Dave Schnedler (Mary Ann), and Ann Cook (Ken).   She is also survived by her grandchildren; Scott Fisher, Jeff Fisher, Darren Schnedler, Kyle Schnedler, Dustin Cook, Nathan Cook, and Kendra Cook along with seven great-grandchildren.  Alida was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by her many friends and family. A special thanks to the staff at La Vida Llena who provided support and care to Alida and her family.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 13, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, 7701 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque, NM, with a reception to follow. She will be interred with her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church and School or the Alzheimer’s Association.
