Alice M. Williamson

October 6, 1918 — April 14, 2020

Alice M. Williamson, age 101, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born in Kansas City, MO on October 6, 1918. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis S. Prosser; mother, Cecile Grace Williams; husband, Dorwin L Williamson, (2001); daughter, Barbara Vigorito, (1987); son, Thomas Williamson, (2000); brother, Lewis Prosser; and son-in-law, John Vigorito, (2019).

Alice worked as an interior decorator in Kansas City, Cleveland, and Saudi Arabia before retiring with Dor in Rio Rancho. Her home was impeccably decorated, and she took pride in that. She had many beautiful things, most with a story behind them. She took that same care with herself, looking her best every day. She was a proper lady, impressing all she met as a person of style and class.

Alice was never one to be afraid of speaking her mind, even if it stung a bit. If your pictures were hung too high, you were not driving correctly, or you needed to be getting married, she shared her thoughts. But she was always right.

Her only lament was the unfairness of outliving her children and husband. She looked forward to this time when she could be reunited with her beloved Barbara, Tom and Dor.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Williamson, of Norwalk, IA; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen and Renee Vigorito of Austin, TX, Victor and Maria Vigorito of Cedar Park, TX, Amy and Ward Combs of Edmund, OK, Paul and Lorie Williamson of Norwalk, IA, Bryan Williamson of Tulsa, OK, Greg and Lori Williamson of St. Louis, MO, Krista Williamson and Eve Medlock of Overland Park, KS, and Tom and Carol Williamson of Richmond, MO.

Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date.
