Alice (Galindo) Romero

Alice was born October 7, 1928. Born in San Fernando Valley California. Her parents were Ben and Carmen Galindo. Carmen had two sets of twins. Alice twin sister died when she was approximately six months. When Alice was 7 or 8 the family moved to San Francisco California. She had two sisters, Becky who is older and younger sister, Henrietta. She had three brothers, Raul and Alex who are older and younger brother, Henry. The second set of twins (fraternal) is Henrietta and Henry. Raul, Becky and Henrietta remain. Raul is 99 years old.

Alice went to school in San Francisco. She married and had one son, John Stucki. After a year there was an annulment. A few years later she met and married John Romero. She remained married to John for 72 years. They eventually settled in Albuquerque NM. Alice had five children, Two boys and three girls, John, Lee, June, Daniel, and Lisa. She had six grandchildren, Elke, Eric, Lindsey, Sheila, Leah, and Michael, and four great-grandchildren, Felix, Michael Jr., Nathan, and Elisa.

In her later years she was given Tino a Chihuahua. Tino, a Rescue Dog, was originally Lisa's and was given to her by JR Lisa's husband after Lisa's death. She loved Tino very much. He was Lisa's companion and later Alice's.

There were many challenges/obstacles which impacted her during her youth- Economically the Great Depression and WW2. During the Depression, the family business and home were lost. She like many others endured. These times fostered mistakes and regrets that were with her the rest of her life. She was deeply sorry.
Her life in Albuquerque was raising a family, worked as a waitress, earned her GED, Den Mother, and loved to collect stamps and coins. She loved flowers and was always excited to receive them. She will be missed. But as she would always say "I'm 93 and I have had a long long life;" then she would laugh (HaHa).
