Alice Louise Gooden

Alice Louise Gooden, 82, passed away with her husband and son by her side on August 18, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. Alice was born in Morgantown, WV on October 6, 1934. She graduated from Morgantown High School, where she was the lead majorette of the marching band, even performing during a game of the Pittsburg Steelers. Another achievement from her youth was being selected as Miss Dominion News by the local Morgantown newspaper. After marrying in 1954, Alice moved to Albuquerque, NM, where she lived until her passing. She spent a majority of her life as a loving and dedicated homemaker raising two children. Alice enjoyed much of her time in later years in Angle Fire, NM and was an avid golfer, enjoying her time with her golf group, the “Chicks with Sticks”. She was dedicated to her family, cared for others, loved the Lord and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Alice is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edgell Clayton Gooden; son, Clayton Gooden and wife, Joan of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter, Debbie Gooden of Salem, OR. Alice had four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her third grandson, Steven Gooden.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming in Albuquerque.  Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions might be made to the YMCA of Central New Mexico (https://ymcacnm.org/get-involved/give).
