Alice Virginia "Ginny" Gonzales
May 26, 1920 — July 5, 2017
Alice Virginia Gonzales, “Ginny,” passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the age of 97.
Ginny was born May 26, 1920 in Richmond, MO. She traveled to Alaska as a teenager with her parents and 11 siblings. She told wonderful stories about her “Alaska Days.”
She married her first husband Robert Elkins in 1942, together they had three sons. The family moved to Albuquerque where they purchased Jones Hardware store. Ginny was widowed in 1966. She started taking art classes and became a talented artist. Her work was shared mostly with family and friends.
In 1974, Ginny married William Gonzales who was the father of six children. Sadly, she was widowed in 2001.
She is survived by children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many loving family members and friends.
A Remembrance Service and reception will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Private burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
