Alfredo Lugo

REV. ALFREDO MORALES LUGOPassed away Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born in Yoakum, TX on February 11, 1931 to Antonio Lugo and Rita Morales Lugo. He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Freddy and Anthony; and grandson, Kayden. Fred graduated from Yoakum High School, and received a football scholarship from Corpus Christi College where he earned his Bachelor's degree. He received his Master's degree from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. He was married in 1974 to Betty Jo Parker. Fred pastored churches in Texas, Oregon and New Mexico. He worked for Oregon State Department of Education from 1973 to 1993. He retired and moved to New Mexico where he kept active in church work, teaching Sunday school classes and preaching. He enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing with his family. He was a loving husband and a caring father. He will be remembered in our hearts for the rest of our lives. Services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Hassell Cemetery, Quay County, NM.
