Alfred Leroy (Pino) Pino

April 29, 1939 — May 9, 2022

Alfred Leroy Pino Sr.

Alfred Leroy Pino Sr. passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the age of 83. Alfred passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife Bella and his family by his side.

Alfred was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on April 29, 1939, to Anita Pino.

Alfred graduated from Wagon Mound High School in 1958 and he went on to attend Highlands University for two years before joining the United States Marine Corps in March of 1960. He served proudly for four years and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California.

On January 26, 1963, Alfred married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth "Bella" Dominguez; they were married for fifty-nine wonderful years. Alfred and Mary lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he worked and retired from the United States Postal Service. Alfred was a lifetime member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all; a man who would give his shirt for a friend. He was a good father who always took care of his sons, a loving grandfather and great-grand father. A selfless man, who even in his final days asked his loved ones to take care of Bella when he was gone. Basketball and baseball were his true passions. He loved to watch the Dodgers and attend the New Mexico High School state tournament with his sons and grandchildren. He loved to be with family and was always up for a reunion or gathering of friends.

Alfred was preceded in death by his grandfather who raised him, Justo Pino, his stepfather Robert E. Martinez Sr., Mother Anita Martinez, his brother Joe Martinez, and sister Téa Miramontes.

He is survived by his wife Mary "Bella" Pino; sons Leroy Pino, Phillip Pino, Thomas Pino and wife Melanie; grandchildren Michelle Ulibarri and husband Jacob, Andre Pino, Justin Pino, Jeremy Pino, Joseph Lucero Sr. and Lindsey Boelter and husband Matt; great-grandchildren Sofia Joan Ulibarri, Joseph Lucero Jr., Charley Boelter and Leo Boelter; siblings, Lala Gardea of Canoga Park, California, Robert Martinez Jr. of Los Gatos, California, Dick Martinez and wife Cyndi Danuser Martinez of Ormond Beach, Florida, John Angel of Albuquerque, New Mexico and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thank you to hospice nurse Clerice Carrillo of Ambercare for her dedication, kindness, and loving care. They'd also like to extend special thank you to Jazmine Jaramillo and Alyssa Griego for their loving support to the family.
