Alex Mares

Age 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Thursday, May 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Imogene Mares of Albuquerque, NM; children, Charles A Mares, Mark S. Mares, and wife, Kristine; Ava Good and husband, Paul; James David Robbins, Paul Carey Robbins; grandchildren, Alex Mares, Qoisbina Mares, Cassandra Mares, Mandie Mares; several step-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Alex was preceded in death by his parents Carlos T, and Virginia M. Mares; grandson, Nathan Mares; wife, Hope Vogy Mares; and three brothers. He was born in Taos, NM in 1922 and served in the United States Army during WWII. In June 1951 he married Hope Vogy in Houston, TX and she preceded him in death in 1971. Alex married Imogene Robbins on Dec. 23, 1971 in Boulder, CO. Alex was a member of New Life City. Services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Alan Hawkins officiating. Cremation will follow and private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
