Alden Van Meter Luhrs

ALDEN "VAN" VAN METER LUHRSAge 88, a resident of Sandia Park, died Friday, September 14, 2012. He is survived by his spouse, Ruth Johnson Luhrs of Sandia Park, NM; sons, Benjamin Frederick Luhrs, Christopher Alden and wife, Martha Luhrs of Albuquerque, NM; cousin, Marie E. Reed of Grand Junction, CO. Mr. Luhrs was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Charles Luhrs; father, Alden Frederick Luhrs and mother, Ethel Geneva Olsen. He was a member of Mountainside United Methodist Church. Van was also a member of the VFW. He loved spending time with his family in the mountains and lived there for over 45 years. A Memorial Service will be held on September 20, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Mountainside United Methodist Church, 4 Penny Lane, Cedar Crest, NM with Pastor John Rech officiating. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of New Mexico.
