Albert Guerra, age 83, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on Saturday, May 4, 2019. He entered this world on Thursday, July 18, 1935 in Framingham, MA, born to Vittorio and Corina (Cason) Guerra. He is survived by his wife, Valerie (Tosti) Guerra; daughter, Lynn Wilson and her husband, Dave of Arlington, MA; son, David Guerra and his wife, Megan of Bedford, NH; son, Peter Guerra and his wife, Sharon of Albuquerque, NM; he also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Emma, Erik, Abby, Sophie, Nicolas, Roman, Mathew, Megan and Christopher; two sisters, Frances DeRuvo and Elena Rocheford; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mafalda, Muriel, Thelma, and Agnes.
Albert served his community of Framingham, MA for over 25 years as a firefighter, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. Albert was also a proud member of US National Guard and was honorably discharged after many years of service. In addition, he was a sought-after carpenter and builder in the greater Framingham and Cape Cod area. He received a college degree from Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA as a mechanical designer. He built many homes, with his business partner and their family-based crew. To the amazement of all around him, he built by hand a 20'x 40' in-ground pool at his home, a 20' cabin cruiser in which he cruised around Cape Cod Bay and countless pieces of treasured furniture. Albert loved playing and watching any sporting event and especially enjoyed ones where he could cheer on his children and then his grandchildren. If you were friend or family of Al’s sometime before mid-2013; when Alzheimer’s started to take his personality, and eventually his life, you would have known an honorable and giving man who took pleasure in helping others with his skills and kindness. Albert was just as happy if he was helping others or relaxing at home. He relished in being able to build homes and furniture, even a boat that he used to explore and fish. Again, for those of us that have known him as he was, we know that Albert would have not wanted you to cry for him but to instead enjoy your lives as he enjoyed his. Also, he would have wanted you to give what you can afford to find a cure for Alzheimer’s https://act.alz.org or The Cape Cod Alzheimer’s Family Support Center 2095 Main St. Brewster, MA 02631 support@capecodalz.org
