Albert "Ray" Cortez, age 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and beloved son-in-law to Estela Perez, was called to his eternal resting place on May 12, 2024. He entered this world on April 8, 1945 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Jose and Flora Cortez.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Cortez of 58 years, and his five daughters, Veronica Gabel, Rene Grobecker, Bernadette Cortez, Catherine Alkire, and Francisca Cortez, along with his 16 grandchildren and his 16 great-grandchildren.
He worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for the city of Farmington. Ray was especially devoted to his loving wife Virginia. He was a goofy, loving, hardworking man who always had a joke up his sleeve. To know him was to be loved by him. Ray spent his time playing pranks on his grandchildren, doing yard work, listening to George Strait, watching movies and enjoying Hot Dogs. He was a spiritual man who loved his faith. Ray always had a pocket full of change and a story to tell. Although he may no longer be with us here on Earth, we all gained a Guardian Angel.
