Agustin "Tinsy" Pino Jr

Agustin "Tinsy" Pino, Jr., 92 years of age left his earthly home to his heavenly home on October 1, 2016. Tinsy was born in Santa Fe, NM, May 24, 1924. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1949 and taught classes at Highlands University. Tinsy served in WWII with the 251st Combat Engineers. He was awarded the Bronze Star during the "Battle of the Bulge." He worked for Mountain Bell for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Agneda Romero Pino and Agustin Pino; brother/sisters: Eloy Pino, Pita Murray, Rita Lujan, Lena Spencer, Pilar Ruiz, and Elisa Torres. Also preceded in death are his nieces/nephews: Dr. Eugene (Buddy) Lujan, Raymond Ruiz, Joe Ruiz, Tommy Ruiz, Roy Coats, Roberta (Bobbie) Alarid, and Kimberly Lujan. He is survived by his loving nieces and nephews: Eileen Mead, Judy Harris, Betty Ramage, Janice Torres, Phyllis Rodriguez, Rita Peaslee, Juanita Miguel, Dolores Fulcher, Mildred Catnach, Cecilia Martinez, Jonathan Coats, Michelle Lujan Grisham, Gregory Lujan, Melanie Mead, Gene Mead, Dean Mead, and Jackie Baca. He also leaves behind many cherished family members and friends.
Thank you Judy and Dale Harris for taking care of him and helping him with so many things these past few years. You did so with love and caring hearts. We appreciate all you did for him. Also touching Tinsy's life was a precious care-giving family who graciously and lovingly cared for him: Jackie, Rudy, and Matthew Baca and Issac Aragon. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for embracing Tinsy with your love and kindness, caring for him with such tenderness... .you made him "happy" and did so much for him tirelessly and effortlessly with compassion, respect and most of all LOVE. Thank you Dr. David Scrace, Geriatric MD, with UNM Medical Group, for your kindness and skill, for meeting his medical needs and visiting him in his home. You went above and beyond all expectations in your care of Tinsy and support to our family.
Tinsy will be remembered for his loving heart, outgoing nature, and above all - his generosity. He helped many individuals, family members, tenants, friends and strangers by offering financial help, kindness, and earnest prayers. He provided financial support to the Carmelite Monastery in Santa Fe for decades.
A Celebration of Life will take place with a Rosary and Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Thursday, October 13, 2016, Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Lomas and Tennesse, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
