Adrienne M. Neuhaus, age 93, passed away from natural causes at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque on February 29, 2016.
She was born February 20, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York and moved with her family shortly thereafter to the Panama Canal Zone where she lived for 24 years. She moved to Albuquerque and worked as a secretary at Sandia National Laboratories where she met her husband, Harold Neuhaus. They were married for 51 years. After Harold retired, they lived in Tucson and Pinetop, Arizona for ten years and then returned to Albuquerque.
Adrienne shared her love of swimming with her friends and neighbors, the Park Plaza Penguins, teaching water aerobics for 21 years until she "retired" at the age of 90.
Adrienne is survived by her daughters Betsy Neuhaus and Edna Hatty; her step-daughter Johanna Neuhaus; three grandchildren, Barbara Damskey, Doralien Ciaramella, and Jade Neuhaus; five great-grandchildren, Vincent Ciaramella, Joseph Ciaramella, Michael Damskey, Taylor Damskey and Amber Neuhaus; her brother-in-law, Raymond Peabody and two sisters-in-law, Jean Muller and Wini Buchanan.
Her beloved husband, Harold predeceased her along with her step-son, Don Neuhaus, and her five brothers and one sister.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, 1750 Faith Court NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
